Purpose and legal bases

We process your data in order to carry out the application procedure, i.e. to review your application, to communicate with you and to decide on filling the internship position. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (performance of pre-contractual measures at your request).

After the procedure has been completed, we retain your documents for a limited period in order to be able to defend ourselves against possible claims, for example under the Allgemeines Gleichbehandlungsgesetz (AGG – German General Equal Treatment Act). The legal basis is our legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Any retention beyond this, for example in order to consider you for later internship positions, takes place only with your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR).

Categories of data

In particular, we process contact data (name, email address and, where applicable, telephone number and postal address), your CV, evidence relating to your studies and internship (for example certificate of enrolment, your university's requirements for the mandatory internship (Pflichtpraktikum), transcript of records), your answers to our questions, our correspondence with you and notes from interviews. Please do not send us any information that is not required for the application, in particular no data concerning health, religion or philosophical beliefs, ethnic origin or sexual orientation.

Source of the data

As a rule, we receive your data directly from you. If you apply via a job portal (for example SinoJobs), we receive the data you provided there from that portal.

Recipients and processors

We store your application documents on our own systems. Within DIINNO GmbH, only the persons involved in the application procedure have access. For receiving and sending emails, we use IONOS SE, Elgendorfer Str. 57, 56410 Montabaur, Germany, as a processor. The data are not passed on to any other third parties.

Transfer to third countries

Your application data are not transferred to countries outside the European Union.

Storage period

We delete your application data no later than six months after the end of the application procedure. If an internship contract is concluded, the necessary data are transferred to the personnel file. Longer retention takes place only with your consent, which you may withdraw at any time with effect for the future.

Requirement to provide data

The provision of your data is neither required by law nor by contract. However, without the information required for the procedure, in particular proof that the internship is a mandatory internship, we cannot consider your application.

Your rights

You have the right of access (Art. 15 GDPR), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18), data portability (Art. 20) and to object to processing based on legitimate interests (Art. 21). You may withdraw any consent you have given at any time with effect for the future (Art. 7(3) GDPR). An informal message to karriere@diinno.de is sufficient.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority. The authority responsible for us is the Berliner Beauftragte für Datenschutz und Informationsfreiheit (Berlin Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information), Alt-Moabit 59–61, 10555 Berlin, Germany.
